Did you know...
In April 08, US president George W. Bush set new 'ambitious' targets for US GHG emissions reduction and only today the US has called on the world's eight most industrialised nations to invest in a £5bn climate change fund... a long way from the earlier days of the current Administration...

Suddenly we are shunning our gas guzzlers, watching airlines collapse, rushing to install log-burners in our open fireplaces and it has become even more fashionable to go camping in Cornwall. Whatever the driver of these changes, they reduce our carbon footprint. So, expect more fiscal pressures that impact our carbon dependency. Whether “green” taxes or market forces, they help us to live more sustainably. Look on the green side and be part of the solution! |

| Farnborough International Airshow 2008 |
 |
We first exhibited at the bi-annual Farnborough International Airshow in 2006. We felt brave as there must be few places on Earth where sales in a week are measured in £billions and all of it is highly fossil fuel dependent to both manufacture and operate.
Suggesting to the sales forces on the many impressive stands that they might consider the environmental impact of their products as either a risk or an opportunity was treated with almost universal derision and the experience was depressing. |
However, some exhibitors in 2006 were sufficiently prescient to want to explore the issues further. Two years later, with the support of the Farnborough Aerospace Consortium (FAC) and funding from both SEEDA and Envirowise we have helped twenty aerospace and defence companies in the South East to understand, measure and reduce their environmental impacts. Between them they also saved almost £500,000 of recurring costs. A return on investment of 5:1.
We are returning to the Farnborough International Airshow again this year but much more optimistic that we will receive a more positive reception. Read full article
