Book onto our <a href="http://consultolive.com//index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=216=46; target="new">IEMA CRC training course</a> to find out more about the scheme.<br /><br /> <li><b>Second Phase Environmental Permitting</b><br /> Water discharge consents, groundwater authorisations and radioactive substances authorisations have all become Environmental Permits. If you already hold any of these consents/authorisations, you do not need to lift a finger, the change was automatic.<br /><br /> <li><b>New WEEE exemption</b><br /> The Environment Agency has announced a further exemption from the requirement to hold a permit when handling WEEE, which will be covered by Environmental Permitting Regulations later this year. The two current exemptions allow the repair and refurbishment (excluding dismantling), and the secure storage of intact WEEE pending recovery elsewhere, without the need to hold a permit. It is the intention to introduce an additional exemption from needing a permit, to cover dismantling of WEEE prior to onward recovery and for the storage of component parts for recovery elsewhere.<br /><br /> <li><b>Landfill Tax increase</b><br /> On 1<sup>st</sup> April, the standard rate landfill tax increased to £48 per tonne for general waste. Inert waste (rocks, soil, rubble) has stabilized at £2.50 per tonne. The standard rate is to increase by £8 per tonne, per year until April 2013.<br /><br /> <li><b>Feed-in Tariffs</b><br /> On 1<sup>st</sup> April, the renewable energy feed-in tariffs came into force. This is the Carbon Trust s most prestigious programme and Olive is delighted to have been selected. <h3>Olive delivers Low Carbon Reviews for Aerospace and Defence</h3> <img src="http://consultolive.com/Aeroplane1.jpg"; width="100"; align="right"/>Phase 1 of the Programme, funded by the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) and promoted by the Farnborough Aerospace Consortium (FAC), is complete with a select number of businesses recommended for Phase 2. However, few organisations, large or small, have the data management processes in place to effectively collect, record, analyse and report environmental information.<br /><br /> Olive is currently developing an Environmental Data Management course, which will be accredited by IEMA, will provide the understanding and skills required to manage environmental information. This course will help delegates to handle data to make informed management decisions, improve performance, reduce costs, reporting carbon footprint and other performance information to stakeholders and customers.
